The Macintosh System looked very different in 1984. Much of what we see today in macOS can be rooted back to this version of the system software. Today, Ken demos the legacy system, talks about some Apple history, and makes some fun comparisons to today's macOS.

Emulated in Mini vMac.

Running Macintosh LISA Through OS9 VM's SIMULTANEOUSLY (Mac OS 0-9)

MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON THE SETTINGS GEAR TO CHOSE HD AND EXPAND THE VIDEO SIZE!
Running TEN! (10) Macintosh OS Versions virtually on my MacPro Tower AT THE SAME TIME! I've been creating these VM's in Mini VMac and Sheepshaver for a while now and finally have all classic versions of Mac OS 1-9 in Virtual Machines. I'm also running the LisaEM VM which runs one of the the oldest versions of Apple OS BEFORE the 128 Mac was released.

I'm using a MacPro tower with (2) 2.8GHz Quad-Core intel processors, with maxed ram of 32GB running Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). During the running of these VM's and capturing the video using Quicktime, my computer overheated so I had to turn the fans all the way up until this video was finished.

LOOK FOR MY NEXT VIDEO WHICH WILL FEATURE RUNNING 10 OSX VERSIONS: MAC OSX 10.1 THROUGH MAC OSX 10.10 SIMULTANEOUSLY!

Special Thanx to The Macintosh Garden https://macintoshgarden.org/all for their excellent library of Abandonware Macintosh software. There were about 12 programs seen in the video that were downloaded from that site, the other software were versions I have archived over the past 27 years.
